Note: As of March of 2017, the CDR Technician Level I & II courses have been combined into one two-day CDR Technician course.

There is a CDR Analyst Class being offered by Collision Safety Institute May 7th-11th, 2018 at the same location.

Attendees are not required to own the Bosch CDR Tool, although it is strongly encouraged.  This course is designed so those who do not yet own the CDR Tool will have a better understanding of this evolving technology and benefit from the information.

This course is best suited for field investigators, insurance investigators & adjusters, or those involved in vehicle documentation and examinations. The course offers the attendee insight into the basic operation and use of the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) Tool, as well as learn the latest software and basic imaging techniques.

The first day of the course is introductory level training which exposes the CDR Tool user to the basic functions of the tool so that, at a minimum, the user can confidently image and preserve data from supported vehicles using the standard OBD II (DLC) port, or in some cases directly from the airbag control module (ACM).

The majority of the hands-on portion of this two-day class happens on day two.  It follows up on the training received on day one and offers individual or small group guided instruction in the following:

    -In vehicle DLC data imaging
    -Module location and identification
    -Direct-to-module data imaging
-Practical booster and adaptor applications (ACM, PCM)
-“Repowering” vehicles and airbag control modules to allow in vehicle DLC data imaging

This hands on instruction and subsequent evaluation by a Trainer/Mentor completes the CDR Technician Level certification.  The CDR Technician course does not go into any analysis of the imaged data.  The course is the basis for, and a required prerequisite for, the CDR Data Analyst's course.

Note: One student from each agency/company will receive a basic CDR repowering rig, a $45 value.
